RWBY (pronounced "Ruby") is an upcoming American anime-inspired web-series created by Rooster Teeth Productions' animation studio. The series is created and directed by animator Monty Oum. The first episode of RWBY is scheduled to premiere July 5, 2013 at the 2013 Rooster Teeth Expo.The story takes place in a modern setting filled with supernatural forces. The series focuses on four girls, each with their own unique weapon and powers, who come together as a team at a school where they trained to battle these forces alongside other similar teams.
Ruby (voiced by Lindsay Tuggey), a red-haired girl who wields a sniper rifle/scythe combination weapon called the Crescent Rose. She is inspired by Little Red Riding Hood and her name is a reference to the red jewel of the same name.
